City’s club literati completed its six successful years in the city and celebrated its anniversary at Swami Vivekanand Library. It was a warm get together where all the members from the ones who with the club since its beginning to the new entrants came and greeted each other for the occasion. All the bookworms come from various walks of life but are united by their love of reading.
The club was started by Seema Raizada, professor of English literature at a city college along with four other literature enthusiasts and today it has members in hundreds. As time passed by and more people started showing interest in the membership, the club opened its entry for people from all backgrounds. As a result, “people from other professions attend the meetings regularly than only the literature enthusiasts”- as shared by Seema Raizada. On the occasion, the members reminisced about the journey so far and discussed further proceedings of the club. The celebrations culminated with a cake cutting ceremony which brought smiles to all the bibliophiles.
